May 2021, the Turnbulls and McCanns took a mini beach vacation to Virginia Beach. Along for the fun was Granddad, who we kept company. We stayed up on 88th street, at the far end of North End neighborhood. We spent lots of time together! We also played with Ian and Murray’s adorable cousin Levi!

Not pictured

  • Daddy, Ian, and Murray swimming in the waves together!
  • Daddy and Granddad shopping for a meal for everyone, with Gammie laughing from heaven at our lack of organization
  • “Grilling” with Granddad… we saw the grill was broken, and had to “grill” inside

These guys are ready to hit the road!!

We’re here! It’s our “better than a hotel” accommodations in walking distance to the beach

Come on Dad, let’s check out the beach!!

Whoah! There’s a tree tunnel leading to the beach. Neat!

So many dunes after the tree tunnel! What a wide beach!

We don’t care if its 50 degrees and windy, we want to play in the water.

The next day Dad made S’mores pancakes!

We had the beach all to ourselves Friday morning.

Iggy wanted to be buried

And of course we swam, regardless of how cold the water was!

Now Levi is here!!!

FEEED MEE!!!

Drumming with cousins is fun!

Don’t eat the sand Levi!

Saturday evening we went to Steinhilbers! Ian and Murray had Shirley Temples and LOVED them!

Cousins playing at Steinhilbers

Levi got pretty tired from all the excitement!

After Steinhilbers, Mommy and Daddy didn’t know what they signed up for when Murray and Ian got the “small” waffle code at Brusters.

The next day, Ian, Murray, Mommy and Daddy spent some time on the beach before heading back. We saw this neat horshoe crab shell with barnacles on it!
