On February 29th, Ian and Daddy took our first outing in New York City. We went to The Statue of Liberty. It was very cold and windy that day. We rode a boat to get there, went to the top of the pedestal for a view, and we finished in the museum.

Our boat and destination!

I got a snack on the boat. Daddy took some bites from my hot dog and I got angry at him. He had to buy me another one.

Look we’re almost there!

Looking up the inside of the statue! You can see the spiral staircase in the middle going up to the crown.

Ian and Daddy out front of the statue. Daddy needs to shave. Lots of people were trying to get pictures out in front. But it was quite cold and breezy, so we didn’t linger too long.

We went inside the museum to warm up.

At the entrance, I found myself on the liberty wall at the Museum!

It’s me! I’m a stud like Dad!

Lady Liberty has stinky toes. These are a replica of what the original looked like before the statue got it’s patina.

The molds to make the feet! The statue was quite complex to build!

Special note from Ian to his extended family

Gammie, I hope you get better. To everyone, I hope I can see you again in person and I miss you and love you.
